HOW-TO Register for 2022 Fall Baseball (softball is not offered in the fall)

  • In-Person Registration – Cost varies per Division, between $60 to $110
    • Mon., 6/20/22 from 6-7pm @Moeller Garage
    • Weds., 6/22/22 from 6-7pm @Moeller Garage
    • Sat., 6/25/22 from 12-130pm @Merriman Road Baptist Church / T-Ball & Pinto Awards ceremony
    • Thurs., 6/30/22 from 7-8pm @Moeller Garage
    • Mon., 6/20/22 from 6-7pm @Moeller Garage
    • Sat., 7/23/22 prior to evaluations at Garden City Park from 930-10am
    • Sat., 7/10/22 from 3-4pm @Moeller Garage
  • Divisions – Date of Birth is based on player age as of 4/30/2023
  • Method of Payment – Cash, Check or Credit Card ($5 additional fee for credit transactions). Any additional registrations after 7/23/22 incurs a late fee of $25
  • Outside of the in-person registrations noted above, please email your request to jbandy329@yahoo.com and gcyaajwilliams@gmail.com to arrange an in-person registration outside of the previously offered registration dates on the 2022 flyer below

Uniforms (for 2022 Fall Ball)

  • Provided sizes at registration, evaluation day check-in or provided to coaches are customized per player and team (generic numbers #1-smallest size, to #12-largest size)
  • Orders are submitted a few days after evaluation
  • Uniform pickup is generally the week that games begin (in this case, the week of 8/14/22). This season the Pony and Colt divisions tested the dri-fit style jersey with snap-back hats. This is something we’re interested in doing for all divisions in 2023 (except for T-ball)

How-To be a Coach (for 2022 Fall Ball)

  • Provide the following information via email to jbandy329@yahoo.com and gcyaajwilliams@gmail.com
    • Your first name and last name
    • Your cell#
    • Your email address
    • Your player’s first name and last name, date of birth and confirmation you will be able to attend evaluations and the draft immediately to follow
    • Your Coach shirt size (where applicable)
  • Concussion Protocol and Certification (only needed 1x per Coach to keep on file with GCYAA)
  • GCYAA annual Membership dues paid ($5/calendar year, except for Lifetime members)
  • Your color preference for team selection (i.e. Black, Navy, Red, Pink, Yellow, Gray, Royal, Orange, etc.)
  • Substitution Request Protocol: Must notify your Division Director with a request 24-hrs prior to the game so getting a tally of how many players you need on which days in advance is hugely helpful (we recommend going over the season schedule with parents at the start of practices when schedule is released to make sure you’re covered). In the Fall there is no forfeit for teams with less than 8 players. Once the Director is aware, they will provide an update with the sub(s) information to the Head Coach – as well as the player for game day. They are approved as a sub(s) for that set of doubleheaders alone – this is not an entire season approval of a sub. We do this in the case-by-case bases, as needed and will pull from the division below top players – as well rotate those players. All subs must be registered with GCYAA Fall Ball to be considered to play up a division.

2022 Weather Policy (as of 8/03/22)

  • Rain Delay – May only be called during, a game, after umpire/officials receive word from the Commissioner, Fall Ball Directors. Coaches and umpires do not call games off for cancellation without approval
  • Lightning and Thunder / Storms – Officials will call a 15 minute game delay upon visual of lightning. This will reset if another lightning strike occurs before the 15 minutes are up, and so on. The only exception is if there are other games due to be played after the current one – which may have a hard-stop in the timing so as to not cause drastic delay in the subsequent games due to be played on the same diamond/ball field
  • High Heat Protocol – Cancellation policy for games and practices follows the MHSAA 2022 Fall policy. If the Heat Index is at or above 104 degrees will automatically result in game and/or practice cancellation as the health and safety of the kids in our program is of the utmost importance to us volunteer board members.
  • Practice Cancellation Protocol – Coaches are the ones who may cancel practice, unless GCYAA advises cancellation due to high heat or flooded fields, etc.
